Siquijor has no fast ferry from Cebu. The island is reached from five ports and one airport, and the default answer for almost everyone is Dumaguete: four OceanJet sailings a day, forty minutes at sea, 420 PHP in tourist class, landing you in Siquijor town itself.
From Bohol there are two fast craft a day out of Tagbilaran. From Cebu, no boat sails straight to the island, but OceanJet sells a four hour through ticket via Tagbilaran, and there is also an overnight RORO three nights a week and a flight. And the port you arrive at decides how much the rest of your day costs, because the two piers on the island are eleven kilometres apart.
Your route to Siquijor
Pick where you are starting from. OceanJet times and fares read on its booking engine on 29 September 2026, other operators on 18 September 2026.

Fares are one-way adult tickets in the class named. A terminal fee is collected in cash at the pier on top of the ticket. Confirm your own date on the operator's booking engine before you travel.
The five ways onto the island
Siquijor sits in the middle of a triangle formed by Negros, Bohol and Mindanao, which is why it has several doors and no obvious front one. Here is what each is worth, with OceanJet fares read on 29 September 2026.
| Coming from | Time and fare | Where you land |
|---|---|---|
| Dumaguete, Negros | 40 min, 420 PHP tourist, 4 sailings a day on OceanJet. Or 1 h 30 from 200 PHP on the Aleson RORO, which takes vehicles. | Siquijor town port |
| Tagbilaran, Bohol | 1 h 40 to 2 h, 960 PHP tourist, 2 sailings a day on OceanJet. Or 3 h on the night RORO. | Siquijor town port, or Larena on the RORO |
| Cebu City | 4 h on one OceanJet ticket via Tagbilaran, 1 920 PHP tourist, 2 departures a day. Or the overnight RORO, 10 h, 3 nights a week, from about 790 PHP. Or fly with Sunlight Air. | Siquijor town port, Larena, or Siquijor airport |
| Oslob, south Cebu | 2 h by Super Shuttle Ferry RORO, 500 to 650 PHP, one sailing a day at 13:00. Opened in May 2026. | Larena |
| Overland via southern Cebu | Bus, then the Liloan to Sibulan barge, 25 min for 130 to 150 PHP, then your boat. About 7 h from Cebu South Bus Terminal, sold as one ticket by the coach companies. | Depends on the boat you finish on |
| Plaridel, Mindanao | 6 h by RORO, 3 sailings a week, on the same vessel that runs the Cebu line. | Larena |
One thing the table hides. Dumaguete is not just the fastest crossing, it is the only one with enough daily frequency to absorb a missed boat. Everywhere else you are looking at two sailings a day or three a week, and a cancellation costs you a night.
From Dumaguete: forty minutes, four times a day
This is the crossing nine travellers out of ten take, and the reason Siquijor is usually tacked onto a Negros leg rather than approached on its own.

The OceanJet fast craft
OceanJet runs air-conditioned fast catamarans from Dumaguete port straight to Siquijor town pier. Four sailings were listed each way for Tuesday 6 October 2026, the same timetable as in mid September.
| Direction | Departures read for 6 October 2026 |
|---|---|
| Dumaguete to Siquijor | 07:20, 11:00, 13:00, 19:10. Forty minutes, fifty on the evening sailing. |
| Siquijor to Dumaguete | 06:00, 10:00, 12:00, 18:00. Forty minutes. |
Fares were identical in both directions: 420 PHP in tourist class, 420 PHP in open air, 700 PHP in business, up from 380 and 640 PHP ten days earlier. Open air costing the same as tourist is worth knowing, because on a forty minute hop in good weather the outside deck is the better seat for nothing extra.
Book on the OceanJet booking engine, which also carries the sailing advisories when the weather turns, which is the only authoritative source for your own date. The operator publishes no fixed timetable, so every schedule grid you find elsewhere, this one included, is a dated reading rather than an official listing.
The Aleson RORO, slower and half the price
Aleson Shipping runs a roll-on roll-off vessel on the same water. It takes about an hour and a half instead of forty minutes, and readings in September 2026 gave two sailings each way: 10:00 and 18:00 out of Dumaguete, 06:00 and 13:30 back from Siquijor.
Fares were listed at 200 PHP in economy and 250 PHP with air conditioning, so roughly half the fast craft. Sources disagree on the frequency, with some giving four daily rotations, which tells you how often this grid moves.
The real reason to take it is not the price. A RORO loads vehicles, and the fast craft does not, so if you are bringing a rented scooter across from Negros this boat is not the cheap option, it is the only one.
OceanJet fast craft carry passengers only. Every scooter and every car that reaches Siquijor came on a RORO.
Getting to Dumaguete in the first place
Dumaguete has its own airport at Sibulan, coded DGT, about fifteen minutes north of the pier. Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines fly it from Manila, which makes a same-day Manila to Siquijor run possible if you take a morning flight.
There are three practical ways to reach the pier, and they differ by a day rather than by a few hours.
- Fly to Dumaguete. Sibulan airport, fifteen minutes from the port, with Manila services on Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines. The fastest door, and a morning flight gets you onto an afternoon boat.
- Fly to Cebu, then go overland. A bus down the east coast, a short barge across the Tanon Strait, then the port. Cheap, and it eats a day. The section on southern Cebu below breaks that route down.
- Come down from Bacolod or Sipalay. If you are already working your way along Negros, Dumaguete is the end of the line rather than a detour.
That second option is the trade every budget itinerary in this region ends up making. If you are weighing the day against the fare, our breakdown of what a trip here actually costs puts numbers on both.
The crossing, pier to pier
From Bohol: the second fast craft
If you are already on Bohol, you do not need to go back through Cebu or Negros. OceanJet links Tagbilaran directly to Siquijor twice a day. It also serves Lazi, on the south coast: its booking engine listed a 07:20 departure from Tagbilaran for 12 November 2026, reaching Lazi at 09:20, for 1 100 PHP in tourist class, and Lazi is linked by OceanJet to Plaridel, on Mindanao.
Tagbilaran to Siquijor by fast craft
Two sailings were listed for 6 October 2026: 07:30 arriving 09:30, and 15:20 arriving 17:00. The return runs 08:20 to 10:20 and 14:30 to 16:30. The crossing is quoted between one hour forty and two hours depending on the rotation.
Tourist and open air classes were both 960 PHP, business 1 450 PHP. That is more than twice the Dumaguete fare for a crossing three times as long, which is the honest arithmetic of coming in from the Bohol side.
The pairing works well in practice. Bohol and Siquijor are the two islands people combine most often in this part of the Visayas, and Panglao as a base puts you forty minutes from the Tagbilaran pier.
The night boat to Larena
Lite Ferries also runs a RORO on this leg, aboard the Lite Ferry Ten. It leaves Tagbilaran at 20:00 and reaches Larena at 23:00, three hours, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Arriving at a pier on the far side of the island at eleven at night is a specific choice, not a default one. It makes sense if you are moving a vehicle, and very little sense otherwise.
From Cebu City: four hours through Bohol, a night boat, or a flight
The through ticket via Tagbilaran
Cebu to Tagbilaran is one of the busiest crossings in the country: twelve OceanJet sailings were listed for 6 October 2026, from 05:10 to 17:40, about two hours each and 960 PHP in tourist class. We cover that leg in detail in our guide to the Cebu to Bohol crossing.
Two through journeys were on sale for 6 October 2026, both at 1 920 PHP in tourist or open air class and 2 900 PHP in business.
| Leave Cebu | Reach Siquijor |
|---|---|
| 05:10, stop at Tagbilaran 07:10 to 07:30 | 09:30, a 4 h 20 door to door |
| 13:00, stop at Tagbilaran 15:00 to 15:20 | 17:00, a straight 4 h |
The twenty minute stop looks tight on paper. What OceanJet does if the first boat runs late and the second leaves without you is written nowhere: neither its policies page nor its FAQ mentions connecting trips, so ask at the counter before you count on it.
Book it as Cebu to Siquijor: both legs sit on one booking, at the same 1 920 PHP as the two searched one by one.
The overnight RORO to Larena
Lite Ferries runs the direct boat between Cebu and Siquijor, and it is a slow one. The Lite Ferry Ten leaves Cebu Passenger Terminal 1, Pier 1, at 13:00 and reaches Larena at 23:00, ten hours, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The return leaves Larena at 19:00 on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and docks in Cebu at 05:00.

Those ten hours include the Tagbilaran call, which is why the schedule shows the same 23:00 arrival for both the Cebu and the Tagbilaran legs. Fares read on aggregator listings in September 2026 gave about 790 PHP in standard class and about 1 000 PHP in tourist, though the operator publishes no fare table of its own. Schedules are on the Lite Ferries schedule page.
The flight nobody mentions
Siquijor has an airport, coded IQR, at Cang-alwang. Sunlight Air serves it, and Cebu is the only city it connects to, which makes this the one genuinely direct Cebu to Siquijor link.
The runway is a 1 250 metre strip, so this is turboprop territory with the seat count that implies. It is the newest option on this page and the one most guides still have not caught up with, so check availability on the carrier’s own airport list rather than on a comparison site.
Overland down southern Cebu, the cheap way
The third option is the one backpackers actually take, and it is the same corridor whether you finish at Dumaguete or at Oslob. You ride the length of southern Cebu by bus, cross the Tanon Strait on a short barge, and pick up your boat on the other side.
The sea leg is Liloan, in Santander at the southern tip of Cebu, to Sibulan in Negros Oriental. It is twenty five minutes.
| What | Detail as read in 2026 |
|---|---|
| Operators | Maayo Shipping at about 130 PHP, Cuadro Alas Navigation Lines at about 150 PHP. Both RORO, both take vehicles. |
| Frequency | Roughly every ninety minutes, first crossing 04:30, last around 22:30. |
| After Sibulan | A tricycle to Dumaguete pier, fifteen minutes, around 100 PHP for the trike. |
Two practical points travellers keep reporting. The barge counter takes cash, so do not arrive at Liloan relying on a card. And a fuel surcharge sits on top of the base fare here: MARINA lifted the cap on it from twenty to thirty percent on 30 March 2026 and to forty percent in April, then brought it back down in steps to ten percent on 2 July 2026. With fuel prices climbing again, MARINA Advisory 2026-61 of 19 October 2026 raised it to fifteen percent with immediate effect, calculated on each operator’s approved fare as of 28 February 2026. That is why published figures and the amount you actually pay rarely match.
You can also buy the whole thing as one ticket. Sugbo Urban Transit and Ceres sell a combined bus and boat fare from Cebu South Bus Terminal through to Larena, around seven hours end to end, and the bus only runs on days the ferry runs. It is not a shipping line despite how it is often listed, it is a coach company that has bundled the crossing.
Cebu to Siquijor is four hours and 1 920 PHP on one OceanJet ticket, through Tagbilaran. Anything quoting you a two hour catamaran on this route is describing a crossing that does not exist.
From Oslob: the pier that reopened in May 2026
This is the newest way onto the island, and the one almost nothing online has caught up with. If you are doing the whale sharks at Oslob and then heading for Siquijor, you no longer have to backtrack through Dumaguete.
Mainit Port, in Oslob on the southern tip of Cebu, reopened on 22 May 2026 after fifteen years out of service. Asian Marine Transport Corporation runs it under the Super Shuttle Ferry name, with a RORO straight across to Larena.
| Direction | Times and fare |
|---|---|
| Oslob (Mainit Port) to Larena | 13:00 arriving 15:00. Economy about 500 PHP, air conditioned about 650 PHP. |
| Larena to Oslob (Mainit Port) | 08:00 arriving 10:00, same fares. |
Two hours, daily on the initial schedule, and it lands you at Larena rather than Siquijor town. Being a RORO, it takes vehicles.
Two cautions before you plan a day around it. The route is months old rather than years old, so treat the daily frequency as an opening schedule rather than a fixture, and confirm before you commit. And the 13:00 departure means a morning whale shark slot at Tan-awan, which starts at 06:00, fits in front of it without rushing.
From Mindanao: Plaridel to Larena
The last door is the one almost no guide covers, and it is the useful one if you are coming up from northern Mindanao rather than down from the Visayas.
The Lite Ferry Ten runs Plaridel to Larena in six hours, leaving at 11:59 and arriving at 17:59, on the same three-day rotation as the Cebu line. Southbound it is faster: Larena to Plaridel takes five hours, leaving at 02:00 and arriving at 07:00.
That 02:00 departure is not a typo and not a mistake to discover at the pier. It is the same vessel working its way round the loop, and it is the only Siquijor sailing of the week that leaves in the middle of the night.
Which port you land at, and what it costs to leave it
Siquijor has two working piers, and which one you use is decided by your boat, not by you.

Here is what each pier actually gives you on arrival.
- Siquijor town port, west coast, beside the island capital. Every OceanJet fast craft lands here. Tricycles, habal-habal riders and pre-booked scooter deliveries wait directly outside the terminal, and San Juan, where most of the accommodation sits, runs about 400 PHP by tricycle.
- Larena Port, north coast. Every Lite Ferries RORO lands here, and so does the Super Shuttle Ferry from Oslob. It is about eleven kilometres from Siquijor town, fifteen minutes by road, and further again from San Juan: budget 400 to 500 PHP, and rather more patience at eleven at night.
The island itself is a single 72 kilometre coastal ring, so nothing on it is genuinely far. The difference between the two piers is an hour and a few hundred pesos, not a change of plan.
Frequently asked questions
What is the fastest way to get to Siquijor?
The OceanJet fast craft from Dumaguete, forty minutes for 420 PHP in tourist class, with four sailings a day in each direction. Nothing else on this page comes close.
Is there a direct ferry from Cebu to Siquijor?
No boat sails straight there, but OceanJet sells a through ticket via Tagbilaran, twice a day, four hours for 1 920 PHP in tourist class. The genuinely direct option is slow: a ten hour overnight Lite Ferries RORO from Cebu Pier 1 to Larena on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Or you fly.
How much is the Dumaguete to Siquijor ferry?
420 PHP in tourist or open air class and 700 PHP in business, read on the operator’s booking engine on 29 September 2026 for sailings in October and November. OceanJet raised its whole grid by about ten percent in late September, so older blog figures of 380 PHP are now out of date. The Aleson RORO on the same route was listed at 200 to 250 PHP.
Can you fly to Siquijor?
Yes, into Siquijor Airport, code IQR. Sunlight Air is the only carrier serving it and Cebu is its only connection, so the flight replaces the Cebu ferry that does not exist rather than the Dumaguete one that does.
Can you bring a scooter or a car to Siquijor?
Only on a RORO. The Aleson vessel from Dumaguete, the Lite Ferry Ten from Cebu, Tagbilaran and Plaridel, and the Super Shuttle Ferry from Oslob all load vehicles. No OceanJet fast craft does.
Do you need to book the Siquijor ferry in advance?
On the Dumaguete route, rarely, outside Philippine public holidays and Holy Week, given four sailings a day. On everything else, yes: two departures a day or three a week leave no room to improvise.
Can you go from Oslob to Siquijor directly?
Yes, since 22 May 2026. Super Shuttle Ferry runs a RORO from Mainit Port in Oslob to Larena, leaving at 13:00 and arriving at 15:00, for about 500 to 650 PHP. It is the newest route to the island and it saves the detour through Dumaguete after the whale sharks.
Which Siquijor port do ferries arrive at?
Fast craft arrive at Siquijor town port, on the west coast beside the island capital. RORO vessels arrive at Larena, on the north coast, about eleven kilometres away.
